Early Years, Health and Social Care
People who train in Early Years, Health and Social Care at Uxbridge College have an excellent record of going into jobs from their courses - so if you are committed to succeeding in a caring role, you're in the right place.
Who are these courses for?
These courses are designed for anyone who wants to learn the practical and theoretical skills to get the job of their choice either caring for children, or working in other roles in the health and social care sector. There are also courses for people who want to progress on to Higher Education in nursing and psychology. Formal qualifications are not necessarily required to join a course - many students start College on the basis of relevant work experience and build on their skills.
What kind of environment will I be learning in?
These courses are based at the Hayes and Uxbridge campuses and some also include work placements.
What kind of real life experience will I get through these courses?
Work experience is a vital part of a number of courses offered by this school. Early Years students learn around half their skills in work placements - alternating a week in college with a week at a work placement in a children's nursery - ensuring they have an excellent practical and theoretical base by the time they leave college. During their course, Health and Social Care students will also take up work placements at a range of organisations including Social Services, nursing homes and day centres.
