Catering and hospitality is a fast-moving industry in which qualified, skilled staff are always in demand - particularly in and around London and Heathrow. Our professional training kitchen and restaurant, work placement scheme, and industry-experienced staff will give you a great start if you want a career in this area.
Who are these courses for?
Anyone who is interested in a career in catering and hospitality - no experience or formal qualifications are needed, but adequate communication, numeracy and literacy standards are normally required.
What kind of environment will I be learning in?
Uxbridge College has an excellent professional-standard training kitchen and restaurant, Lifestyles, in which trainees prepare and serve lunches to paying customers. This provides you with real experience while you learn.
What kind of real life experience will I get through these courses?
Catering and Hospitality trainees complete work placements at hotels and restaurants of up to 14 weeks in the academic year - which have led to jobs for trainees. Organisations where trainees have had work placements have include:

- London Heathrow Marriott
- Heathrow Jury's Inn
- RAF Uxbridge
- Baxter and Platts (catering services for GlaxoSmithKline at Stockley Park) and Baxter Storey (services for GlaxoSmithKline at Greenford)

- Coca-Cola in Uxbridge
