Science students conducted forensic investigations to determine who killed Ronald McDonald.

Forensic science students tackled the mystery of who killed Ronald McDonald at a workshop.

The BTEC in Forensic Science group learned more about investigative techniques from Margherita Miele, a post-graduate student at Imperial College London.

Margherita, who has training in chemistry, biochemistry, forensic science and pharmaceutical technology, showed the students how to test blood, red ink and tomato ketchup, and check for evidence which might have been left behind.

They also had to examine the crime scene where Ronald was murdered for clues to the culprit.

The killer was eventually tracked down through fibres from his t-shirt which had transferred to the victim.
