A film lecturer's work has been shown in an international festival alongside other major film releases.
The Britspotting Festival, run in four German cities in April and May, featured The Hospital Visit by Uxbridge College's Paul Moody, who teaches at Uxbridge College.
Paul's film is also under consideration for the Raindance festival which takes place in London in September, and the Encounters film festival, in Bristol in November.
The Hospital Visit is a 2min 58sec long film that featured in the Experimental Shorts section of Britspotting. The festival also featured a variety of other British films, including the hits Hot Fuzz (Director Simon Pegg) and Nicholas Hytner's Tony Award-winning The History Boys.
Paul, who has a BA in Film and Television, a Masters Degree in History of Film, and is doing a PhD in International History specialising in National Indentity in 1930s Cinema, said: "It's an experimental film using original Super 8 home movie footage from the 1960s. I took the bits which were unusable and created a film out of it.
"It's really exciting to get the chance to have your films shown on a big screen.
"I think my experience of making my own films really helps when I'm teaching students - I know exactly how difficult it can be and can use my practical experience to help them find the technical and creative answers."
Paul has been teaching media studies at Uxbridge College since January 2004, including video editing, film and television. His career has also included work placements at Working Title, which has produced films including Bridget Jones's Diary and Hot Fuzz. He is a big fan of Dr Who and horror films.
