Unemployed people can benefit from free training and support to help them get back to work. Whether you are long-term unemployed, have been raising a family, or have been made redundant, you may qualify to take part in the programme at Uxbridge College and Hillingdon Adult Education.
The Accelerate scheme is designed to boost skills, motivation, confidence and experience.
Training covers a wide range of areas including Computing and IT, Customer Service, Catering and Hospitality, Engineering, and Hair and Beauty. You can also choose from a variety of other courses.
Basic skills including literacy, numeracy and English language skills for speakers of other languages are also on offer.
Participants will receive training and support for around 12 hours a week for approximately eight weeks.
Giles Strachan, Partnership Manager for Uxbridge College, said: "The Accelerate scheme is a terrific opportunity for people who are out of work to get all round support to help them find a job. From language skills to form filling to learning a new skill, Uxbridge College can help."
Fran Beasley, Deputy Chief Executive at Hillingdon Council commented: "Giving Hillingdon residents who would like to return to work the support and skills needed to pursue their chosen career plays an important role in improving the diversity and motivation of Hillingdon's workforce; especially important in our current economic climate."
