Models wore outfits and accessories created by first and second year BTEC National Diploma Fashion students, with themes including 1980s tailoring, grunge retrospective and disco goddess.  This year three of the students have places at the London College of Fashion, and a fourth will be attending Wimbledon College of Art, which is part of the University of the Arts London, the umbrella university for art colleges including the London College of Fashion and Central St Martin’s.

The show, which took place in The Mall at the Uxbridge campus in Park Road, was part of the College’s Creative Week Programme, which included a film festival held at the University of Westminster.  There were also exhibitions of art and film, and performances of music and dance, at the Hayes and Uxbridge campuses.

Simon Clark, Head of Creative Studies at Uxbridge College, said: “These events are fantastic fun but they also show some of the incredible talent and skill we have here at Uxbridge College.  These students go on to do all kinds of things, with those on the BTEC National Diploma having the option to go to university or art college.  Qualifications in creative subjects are a serious choice which open up opportunities in a thriving and competitive sector.”
