Apprentices were presented with small grants to support their training thanks to Iver United Charities.

Two cheques for £120 were presented to Ebony Allen and Matthew Rule, who both live in Iver, Buckinghamshire, where the charity distributes various supporting grants.

Ebony is an Advanced Apprentice in Accounting employed at Eton Travel in Eton, studying towards an AAT qualification. Matthew, who was accompanied at the presentation by Keith Bear, his manager at Aspect Window Systems in Iver, is an Intermediate Apprentice in Glass Industry Fenestration, completing his qualification through Uxbridge College’s partner organisation Total Support Training.

Jo Withers, Director – Employment and Skills at Uxbridge College, said: “We really appreciate the way in which Iver United Charities has continued to support our apprentices in the last three years. Grants like these can make a real difference to work-based learners to complement the support and resources provided to them by their employers and Uxbridge College.”

The grants, presented by Mr R Penn from Iver United Charities, are an income generated from a £100 bequest made locally in the Eighteenth Century to support apprentices at the time. This is the third year the charity has kindly supported the College’s learners.
