  • Successful completion of a Foundation Learning course, in a related subject, including English and mathematics

  • A portfolio of creative and varied artworks demonstrating your commitment to art & design as a possible future career.
Selection is made at an interview with course staff.

Who is the course for

This course is for those who wish to continue to develop their creative ability across a range of disciplines.

Course Content

The course consists of three art & design main areas:
  • 2D design
  • 3D design
  • Fine art.
Within these areas of study you will learn about:
  • Drawing and painting
  • Graphic design
  • Printmaking
  • Fashion design
  • Textiles
  • Historical and contemporary design influences.
All students will study Functional Skills in English as part of this course.

Study Methods

How is the course assessed

The course is continually assessed against four core units plus four specialist units of study. Competence must be proved in all areas of study and units before the full award is granted.

Where next - Further Studies

You can progress onto the specialist Level 3 Extended Diplomas at Uxbridge College, in subjects such as: art & design, grapic design, media production, game design or production arts.

You can work in a variety of roles within the art & design industries.
