Entry Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Foundation Learning course, in a related subject, including English and mathematics, plus relevant work experience
  • All applicants undergo an assessment at interview to determine the most suitable level for them to enrol onto
  • Previous experience and qualifications will be taken into consideration
  • You must provide two references.

Who is the course for

For those who wish to develop their skills for a career in the beauty therapy industry.

Course Content

Students will learn the following:
  • Waxing
  • Manicure and pedicure
  • Facial therapy
  • Make-up
  • Eye treatments
  • Health and safety
  • Reception, selling and promotion
  • Customer relations
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Students will also study Functional Skills in English and/or mathematics

Study Methods

Theory and practical study working in a realistic salon environment and practise a range of treatments on paying customers.

How is the course assessed

Assessment is by a range of methods including assignments, independent written assessments, oral questions and on-going practical assessments.

You are expected to demonstrate 100% competency in all assessments. Self study and independent research is essential.

You will be expected to keep a portfolio of evidence, which includes all your work and will be internally and externally verified.
