Childcare
“I really enjoyed the First Diploma in Childcare and Education at Uxbridge College so I enrolled on the Level 3 course. There is the practical side to childcare such as giving children drinks and meals and cleaning up after activities, but there is a lot more to it than that. You have to understand how to communicate with children, how they learn, and what they need.
A big part of the course is the work placements in nurseries and other childcare settings. You apply the theory you’ve been taught at college in the workplace, then you look at what you’ve learned from your experience. It’s a great way to learn.”
If you want to work in an early years environment then our childcare courses could help you on your way.
You will learn theory combined with the practical skills you need to work with children. The courses provide the opportunity to take part in work placements to give you a real life experience of being in the workplace and what it is like to go into a job in the early years sector.
Staff have had experience of working in childcare and will provide you with their knowledge. They can also give you practical tips and advice both to help you while you are in College and on placement.
