Entry Requirements

Who is the course for

This course is for existing refugees or asylum seekers and students who are permanently settled in the UK. Overseas students will be charged additional fees.

Course Content

You will study spoken and written English and word processing. You will be encouraged to use the library and to develop the ability to work on your own.

The course is made up of the following four levels:
  • Entry 1
  • Entry 2
  • Entry 3*
  • Level 1*.
The courses run at these levels so that students can make individual progress. Students are allocated a personal tutor who will monitor progress and help focus on aims and abilities appropriately.

*These courses will also provide learners with WorkSkills. Students will work towards a qualification in employment.

Classwork, homework and exam practice.

Where next - Further Studies

You can progress onto the English and Essential Skills next level course. If you complete a higher level course you can progress to an ESOL Link course or another course.
