- Students at any level of English can join the courses
- You will be given a short interview and a written test to assess your language level and will be advised on the appropriate level of course for you. These tests are by appointment only.
Who is the course for
This course is for students whose first language is not English. Students must want to improve their basic education in English, humanities, mathematics and science and want to progress to mainstream vocational courses or Pre-GCSE or GCSEs.Course Content
The course is made up of the following units:- English language
- Humanities
- Mathematics/numeracy
- Science
- IT.

Classwork, homework and exam practice.How is the course assessed
Your coursework in class and work carried out in your free time is monitored and recorded by your class teachers and a brief report is given to you twice a year. In addition you will take the Speaking and Listening / Reading / Writing mode of the Edexcel Certificate in Skills for Life at the appropriate level.You will also have the opportunity to work towards a Functional Skills qualification in mathematics.
