Entry Requirements
- Normally school leavers should have five GCSEs at grade D or above in relevant academic subjects
- If candidates do not have any formal qualifications they must pass an entry exam
- A keen interest in studying with adequate numeracy and literacy skills
- A satisfactory reference may be required.
Who is the course for
Our GCSE programme is designed for students who may wish to improve their existing grades and study additional subjects, or for those who have not had the opportunity to sit for GCSEs.Course Content
Normally four or five sujects are taken from the following:- Biology
- Chemistry
- English language
- English literature
- Information technology
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Sociology.
Study Methods
How is the course assessed
GCSEs are assessed by external examinations at the end of the year, combined with class-based assessment. Some subjects are modular and modules are taken in Novemeber, January and March.Where next - Further Studies
Depending on the grades achieved students can progress onto an A Level programme or another Level 3 programme at the College e.g. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science), or into employment,Where next - Job Opportunities
