Who is the course for
This course is aimed at students who are looking for an introduction to the sciences and who are hoping to continuing studying sciences at a higher level. Students may have few or no formal qualifications.Course Content
The course includes aspects of biology, chemistry and physics. The course will involve a lot of practical work and will enable students to develop their numeracy and literacy skilss.Examples of units that are included in the Diploma include:
- Skills and techniques for chemistry investigations
- The study of living systems
- The nature and applications of energy, waves and radiation
- Causes of disease and maintaining health
- Forensic detection

The course leads directly to the 1-year BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Science. This leads to our 2-year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Forensic Science and many students progress to University from this course.
