Entry Requirements

  • Four GCSEs at grade D or above including English
or
  • Successful completion of a Foundation Learning course, in a related subject,
including English and mathematics
  • You must be able to provide a good school report/ reference.
Students without the above formal qualifications but who have appropriate experience will be accepted on the basis of a successful interview.

Who is the course for

This course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required for employment in the travel industry.

Course Content

City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew

This course is suitable for students who would like to gain employment in the airline industry or enhance their studies in Travel and Tourism, it will be an additional course for City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism .

This is a practical course and is designed to give you a full understanding of the skills and competencies required by a member of Air Cabin Crew.

The units you work towards and will be assessed on include:

  • Work as cabin crew
  • Airline health, safety & security
  • Aircraft emergency situations
  • Dealing with passengers on board an aircraft
  • Cabin Service Selling techniques
  • Making passenger announcements on board an aircraft

Study Methods

Lectures, workshops, group work, visiting speakers, practical sessions and outside visits to provide students with a realistic view of the industry. This will also involve an overseas residential trip. You will also undertake a two week work placement within the travel industry.

How is the course assessed

The course is assessed through written reports, tests, role plays and other practical activities.
Students must pass ALL UNITS in order to gain overall achievement on the course.

This course is designed to give you the skills to work in the industry as it is not primarily designed for progression onto a higher level course

Where next - Job Opportunities

You will be in a strong position to gain employment as cabin crew and many of our past students are now working as cabin crew for a variety of airlines.
