Uxbridge College Nursery

Uxbridge College Nursery was judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted inspectors in March 2008 for the education it provides.

Comments by inspectors about the nursery, which is at the College's Hayes Community Campus, off Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, included:

  • The leadership and management of the nursery education is outstanding
  • Staff have an expert knowledge and understanding of the Foundation Stage curriculum
  • Children's reading and writing skills are exceptionally well developed
  • Parents' views about their child's needs and interests are actively sought before the child starts
  • They (the children) are very polite
  • All children are very settled and confident
  • Children develop excellent levels of independence
  • The standards of care at the nursery, which were also assessed during the inspection in February, were judged to be 'good.'

The nursery, which has 14 staff, caters for children aged three months to five years from the local community and student base.
