Who is the course for?
The qualification is primarily aimed at practitioners who work directly with clients, disseminating information, advice and some level of guidance: it recognises their skills and competencies. Practitioners will be working with information that is often interpreted by others, usually working within clear guidelines

Course Content
Level 3 Certificate in Advice & Guidance

  • Unit 1 Establish communication with clients for advice and guidance
  • Unit 2 Support clients to make use of the advice and guidance service
  • Unit 3 Review own contribution to the service
  • Unit 4 Understand importance of legislation and procedures

How the course is assessed and Study Methods
Once registered, learners will attend workshops and will need to complete 21 credits: 12 from mandatory units and 9 from a range of optional units which are selected according to their job role. The advice and guidance given can be related to any work setting, for example: housing, job search, educational courses.

Assessment for this qualification will be through a range of evidence produced by their appointed assessor. The assessment methods include: observation of working with clients in the workplace, reflection accounts, personal statements, witness testimonies and questioning and learners will have 1:1 observations and professional discussions along with compilation of a portfolio. Learners will have up to two years to complete the qualification but is anticipated that would be completed within one year; there is no fixed start date.
