Uxbridge College Children's Centre has been officially opened by the Mayor of Hillingdon, Councillor Shirley Harper-O'Neill.
The Mayor launched the Centre in Hayes, which is funded by the Government's Sure Start programme through Hillingdon Council, at a reception attended by families and members of the local community.
The Children's Centre at Uxbridge College's Hayes Community Campus, off Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, will allow families with children under five to access a wide range of services to support them.
Services include parenting and health advice, adult education and employment development, as well as offering an informal setting for children and adults to meet.
The Centre is an integral part of the College and local families will have the chance to get involved in the range of educational and training opportunities on offer.
Laraine Smith, Principal of Uxbridge College, said: "Uxbridge College Children's Centre is a fantastic asset to our whole community and I am really proud for us to be hosting it at Hayes Community Campus. This facility is a superb example of what can be achieved when we all work together and to give young families the support they need. I would like to thank Hillingdon Council and everyone involved for making this project possible."
Uxbridge Children's Centre is the 9th Children's Centre to be launched in Hillingdon.
