The natural world was the inspiration for a colourful event showcasing the skills of hairdressers, beauty therapists and stylists from Uxbridge College.
Jungle animals, ice and snow, the sun and the wind, and colourful fishes were used as a basis for a range of catwalk looks in the show entitled Mother Nature.
Around 180 students taking courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3 were involved in the show on 13 May.
The students are all based at the professional-level training salon at Hayes Community Campus, off Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, and those training at higher levels provide low-cost hair and beauty treatments to members of the public.
Derry Moody, Head of Hair and Beauty at Uxbridge College, said: "All our trainees have to learn complex technical skills and this event gave them a chance to use these in a highly creative way. It was also a real community event, with friends and family getting involved as models and enjoying the event in the audience. It was also great fun."
Uxbridge College's School of Hair & Beauty is a Habia Member School which means it works with the national standards body Habia to promote excellence in the area.
