Speed dating has proved the inspiration for a novel event to help Child Care and Education students hone their interview skills.
Nursery managers and other employers will hold a series of very short interviews with Uxbridge College students in the 'speed placing' event.
First and second year Level 3 Child Care and Education students are busy organising the event, due to take place at the Hayes Community Campus Open Day on 20 June.
The event will help the second year Level 3 students complete their Unit 8 course - preparation for employment - and could even result in real placements where employers have vacancies.
First year Level 3 students will help host the event, and those doing Level 2 Certificate in Child Care and Education will design posters.
Lisa Portland, Section Manager in Early Years, Health and Social Care, said: "Our students have already gained valuable work experience from their placements in nurseries and child care facilities in and around the borough, and this will be an excellent opportunity for them to learn essential interview skills. We have had a great deal of interest from employers who would like to take part - they view the College as a vital resource when it comes to recruiting and are keen to meet our qualifying students."
