It is with great sadness that Uxbridge College wish to pay their respects to a magnificent teacher and manager who sadly died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday 25 April, aged 59 years.
Rachel Davies, Principal, said: "As a well-established member of staff, Ian was a 'one off'. His commitment, loyalty and dedication to his students and his staff were unsurpassed. He had high expectations and never wavered from his deepest principles. He will be sorely missed."
Ian had worked at Uxbridge College since 1997 as a manager and Head of School for Creative Studies. His experience and professional life spanned more than 28 years in further education, having first followed a career in the fashion industry. Following the achievement of a BA in Fashion and Textiles, Ian went on to work in the fashion industry before taking a post graduate teaching qualification.
During his further education career, he also held positions at the South East Essex College and St Martin's College of Art & Design. He was a respected manager, held in high esteem by staff and students, dedicated to the success of all and a most compassionate man.
Ian's funeral was held at West Norwood Crematorium in South London on 4 May.
