Hair stylists from Uxbridge College have won their way through to the finals of a national competition.
The trainees are due to compete in the national finals of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists hair and beauty competition in Blackpool next month, after winning in regional heats.
The successful students were picked from trainees from colleges all over the south of England, who took part in the regional event in Bournemouth on Tuesday 12 February.
The winners from Uxbridge College, who train in its professional-level salons in the Hayes Community Campus in Coldharbour Lane, Hayes, were:
* Natasha Mahey, Seema Chonk and Dimple Chauhan -1st in Total Look
* Mesrak Kaleab - 1st for Ladies Afro Freestyle and 3rd in Ladies Evening Style
* Sophie Barnes - 2nd in Ladies Evening Style.
Mesrak was a winner in last year's finals, when she came second in the Afro Caribbean hair section, which involved finalists from 52 colleges.
Entry fees and travel expenses were met by the College Enrichment programme, which gives backing to activities run in addition to normal study.
Jo Kearvell, Head of Hair, Beauty and Hospitality, said: "This is brilliant news - we have got some really talented, creative people training with us and it is great to see them holding their own in a national competition."
