A student has been selected to study medicine at Cambridge University after achieving three A Level Grade As at Uxbridge College.
Fahad Al-Huda (21), is now due to take up a place at St Edmund's College in October 2009.
Fahad, of Long Lane, Hillingdon, has taken a year out working as a Healthcare Assistant at Northwick Park Hospital, after achieving A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Fahad said: "I was at work when I got the phone call from my girlfriend, who had the letter, saying I had got in. I couldn't believe it - I kept asking her to read it out over and over again. Everyone was so excited for me. I could not have got into Cambridge to study medicine without the help of Uxbridge College - the staff and my friends have given me so much support and help, it has been amazing.
"I am really looking forward to starting at Cambridge - it feels like I have reached the place I have always aspired to get to.
"Where there is a will there is a way. If someone like me can get in to Cambridge, it means that if you really want to go and it's right for you, there shouldn't be anything in your way."
