Trainee hairdressers and beauty therapists from Uxbridge College showcased their skills at two in-house events. The trainees styled models for the shows on 20 April (Apprentices and T2G) and 20 May, utilizing the skills learned as Apprentices, on the Train to Gain programme, and as full-time students. Trainees from Levels 1, 2 and 3 all took part.
The event on 20 April focused on latest trends, and looks for the second show were on the theme of Culture Clash. The first event was supported by Visage Salon which created some exclusive styles for the event on stage. Styling themes at the two events included 1980s retro, Asiana, Punk, Oriental, Aztec, virtual life, futuristic tailoring and sinister romance.
Events were also supported by Wella, REM (UK) Limited, Conair, GE Betterton and Indola.
Jo Withers, Head of Hair and Beauty at Uxbridge College said: "These events were a great opportunity for our students to push the limits of their creativity and they came up with some really professional styling. They are the hairdressers of the future and it is great to see how impressive their work looked on the catwalk."
