The international business KPMG has joined forces with Uxbridge College to become its first Employer Champion.
KPMG, which has 10,000 staff and partners in the UK alone, will help support skills training through the programme at the College in west London.
The partnership with the accounting firm will help strengthen the College's business links and assist KPMG in its community development work.
Uxbridge College's Employer Champion partners are likely to take part in activities including assisting in the development of training programmes and sharing expertise.
KPMG has already been working with Uxbridge College running employability workshops to students who are on courses in IT and English language. These workshops are part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility activities and offer training in CV writing, interview skills, and personal presentation in an interview situation.
Lorraine Collins, Director of Employer Engagement and Employability, said: "Having KPMG on board as our first Employer Champion is an exciting opportunity for Uxbridge College. Our excellent employer links have already helped make us a leading skills and education provider in west London, and this partnership gives us a chance to develop them further.
"KPMG has already been a great help to the College's employability programme. Its input as an employer champion will help ensure that the right skills for industry are being taught at one of the most successful further education colleges in the country."
