The judges praised projects including:
* A market research project in The Mall Pavilions shopping centre designed and implemented by students
* An innovative engineering Apprenticeship scheme run in partnership with British Airways
* A programme which recognises the contribution of business to the local and regional community – the Uxbridge College Employer Champion Scheme.

It provides training and support in a wide range of vocational areas including business, retail engineering, computing & IT, health and social care, catering and hospitality, and leisure and tourism.
Commenting on the Best Further and Higher Education Provider award to Uxbridge College, Andrew Areoff, Chairman of the Judges, said: “With 40 years’ experience, Uxbridge College has recently developed a number of strategic and innovative partnerships with major employers that put the College at the heart of the community. Among the partnerships are an apprenticeship programme with British Airways, an Employer Champion Scheme and a close link-up with Uxbridge’s Mall Pavilions Shopping Centre including research into the shopper experience. Such sustained engagement with the local community, and responsiveness to the needs of local employers show Uxbridge College is at the forefront of best practice in contemporary education.”
