Businesses which train their apprentices through Uxbridge College were among those featured in the West London Business Awards 2013.
THE little ART ROOM in Hanwell won the Innovation in Business award, and West London Motor Group’s trainee Natalie Culhane was crowned Apprentice of the Year.
The pair joined large employers chosen for awards including construction company Galliford Try, Brunel University, and Kolak Snacks, as well as smaller companies Clearview Homes, Grain and Anthony Groves Design.
The awards ceremony was held at the London Heathrow Marriott with an audience of more than 200 guests. Among these were Jo Withers, Director of Employment and Skills at Uxbridge College, and Harpal Lehal, Head of Employer Services. Both play a key role in supporting the provision of apprenticeship training across West London.
Ms Withers said: “It was a real honour to see these two awards given to employers who train their apprentices with the help of Uxbridge College. We were happy to encourage and support their nominations and delighted they were successful. Congratulations to everyone from THE little ART ROOM and West London Motor Group involved, and I would also like to thank the teaching and support staff at Uxbridge College involved with every stage of employer training.”
THE little ART ROOM also received the Apprentice Employer Award in Uxbridge College’s Annual Awards, which honours winners chosen from the 10,000 students and hundreds of employers that the College works with.
The overall winner was Kolak Snack Foods Ltd, of Park Royal, who claimed both West London Business of the Year and Overall Business of the Year awards. They also scooped a Highly Commended in the Food and Drink Business of the Year
.
