Entry Requirements

GCSE English language and maths at grade A*- C (grade 9 - 4), plus 96 UCAS points (MMM) in business or related subjects (A Level or BTEC); however, a lower entry point will be considered with good references.


An Access course in Business

You will also need a tutor reference and attend an interview.

Students with overseas qualifications are also welcome.

Who is the course for

Gain the skills and understanding to enhance your existing business knowledge to give your career in marketing, HR or finance a boost. Besides being a stand alone qualification this course is for those who are in, or plan to enter employment in, a wide range of business related areas. It is also ideal for students who wish to progress on to the 2nd year of a university degree course or complete the HND component of their higher national qualifcation.

Where next - Further Studies

Students passing the HNC course will be able to progress onto the BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Business at Uxbridge College, with a view to completing a full degree programme at university. Many professional bodies also recognise the HNC for further professional study.

Where next - Job Opportunities

The HNC is a recognised qualification which can assist entry into the business sector. Jobs roles include: HR co-ordinator, marketing assistant or customer service assistant.

The fees quoted are for home and overseas students for one year of study and include tuition, exam and materials fees. The tuition fee for the second year of two year programmes will be the same as the first year. First year students must also pay £5 for an ID card (which gives access to the college and facilities e.g. library) and £35 for college registration.

Whether you pay a 'home' or 'overseas' fee depends on whether you meet certain criteria. Uxbridge College does not create the criteria for fee status. The fee status criteria is provided in regulations and guidance, published by the government.
