HCUC Coronavirus Update
w/c 18 May 2020
The Government has extended the lockdown period but has supplied a roadmap which reduces the restrictions and introduces a phased return over a period of time. The reduction of restrictions will be dependent upon scientific and medical advice supporting the continued steps being taken.
There was no broad message about return for schools and colleges, therefore the current arrangements will remain in place. The statement did say:
Our ambition is that secondary pupils facing exams next year will get at least some time with their teachers before the holidays. And we will shortly be setting out detailed guidance on how to make it work in schools and shops and on transport.
Work continues to make the campuses safe environments when a return is allowed. Again, this work in no way indicates a return date just a commitment to the duty of care of all those entering College buildings.
Following the Government’s announcement on 18th March in relation to schools and colleges and the ongoing COVID-19 response, the College has adjusted its arrangements.
Please be assured that we will update all students when we have more details.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Civic Duty – Volunteering
The College has donated equipment to both the NHS and care homes in the communities close to Uxbridge, Harrow and Hayes. There is further work planned to support these caring organisations in the near future. The College also has examples of individual cases of volunteering from both staff and students, well done to all of those that have volunteered.
It gives FAQs that appear to cover all the other Government webpages we supply and more. In addition, the final line gives advice on how people can sign up to receive automatic Gov.uk updates:
