Teacher Training

Being on the Teacher Training study programme at Uxbridge College has been a very rewarding and worthwhile experience in that after many years of working in further education, I now have a recognised qualification in a profession that I love and enjoy.

The study programme was very relevant to my needs as an in-service trainee teacher, as it created opportunities for me to continuously reflect my practice and to then use the knowledge gained to improve my teaching skill. It was rewarding to see the improvement in my teaching skills as I progressed from year 1 to year 2.

Yes, the experience was not without its own challenges, having to combine my full time teaching and assessing role to the demands of the course was not easy, but overall a worthwhile experience which teaches the discipline of time management and resilience.

I must commend the excellent support from my lecturers on study programme, the assigned mentor and peers who were constant reminders that I am not alone on this hectic but worthwhile learning journey.
